Bat Houses

Zent's Bat Condo

$450 - unpainted; pole and installation not included

Product Information

Our Zent's Bat Condo is built using Native Texas pecky cypress wood to withstand the elements and provide bats with additional climbing surfaces. This house offers 3 well-ventilated roosting chambers and a grooved and sheltered landing area for easy and safe access to the house. The Zent's Bat Condo is designed for moderate to hot climates and offers a wide range of roosting temperatures. This bat house can shelter up to 70 bats when installed properly.

Installation

It is recommended to install the Zent's Bat Condo facing southeast for proper temperature regulation. This house should be installed on either a 2 3/8 inch OD steel drill stem pipe (commonly used in fence construction), or a 20 ft long 4 x 6 inch treated pine pole. The bottom of the house should be at least 15 ft above the surface of the ground. The house should either be welded to the steel pipe, or screwed to the pine pole using 1 1/2 inch angle iron. 1 1/2 inch exterior deck screws are recommended for attaching the angle irons to the bat house. Account for 25 inches of pipe/pole length for bat house installation - pipe/pole soil depth will vary by location.
